The century date change defines the aesthetic interests of
two generations which were born during romanticism but end
by introducing themselves in realism, on the one hand, and
in impresionism on the other. They are usually artists who
travelled a lot and finished their studies in Rome or Paris
and know the European languages at the end of XIX. This is
the case of Modesto Brocos, Serafín Aven-daño
or Germán Taibo, who have a different way of grasping
reality, as well as the Generación Doliente, who produces
a different feeling of the landscape, full of deep lirism.
