HISTORIC AVANT-GARDE

It coincides in time with the nationalist hatching which took place between 1923 and 1936. Its major figures chose a fussion of tradition and the popular forms or the anthropological inheritance with the international languages more similar to retorno á orde (“back to order”), strenghtening the so-cial, expresionist, neocubist and neofauvist vision, which will bring as a result the estética do granito (“granite aesthetics”). In this context, the surrealism will have Maruja Mallo as the Spanish muse.
